In today’s increasingly polarized political climate, it can be challenging to find a balanced and nuanced perspective on issues that affect us all. Navigating the tumultuous waters of US political discourse requires a steady hand and a commitment to understanding multiple viewpoints. The promise I make my readers is to give that balance, but with a firm commitment to the truth no matter which side of the aisle it may flatter or slander.

Being citizen centered is to recognize the ability of all Americans to live a life that is upheld in our founding documents. All peoples in our country are entitled to life, liberty, and a pursuit for happiness, and being citizen centered is about enabling this ideal to live up to its potential in all of us. It is about recognizing the validity of different perspectives and seeking out compromise and common values. In a time where extreme viewpoints dominate our politics, embracing a citizen centered approach can offer a refreshing alternative to the binary thinking that often characterizes political debates. This means being willing to listen to experts in the fields that are being discussed, engaging with and thoroughly researching data about the debated topics. Embracing the side of us that seeks the truth, not just what makes us feel right, and finding where we fit ourselves in the truth.
Being citizen centered means having the willingness to engage with individuals from across the political spectrum. By actively listening to diverse viewpoints and engaging in respectful dialogue, being citizen centered can foster understanding and empathy, even with those who may hold vastly different beliefs. In a country as diverse as the United States, with a wide range of perspectives and experiences, finding common ground can be challenging. However, by approaching political discussions with an open mind and a commitment to seeking out the truth, we can play a crucial role in bridging the divide and working towards a more united and inclusive society. Whether you lean left, right, or somewhere in between, embracing a citizen centered approach to political discourse can help promote understanding, collaboration, and progress. As we navigate the complexities of today’s political landscape, let us strive to keep an open mind, engage in respectful dialogue, and work towards a brighter future for all.
This country was founded and built by generations of Americans who sought the good of their fellow citizens. This country has also fought itself through war and politics against those who would take advantage of their fellow Americans. Being citizen centered is to take the approach that each and every one of us, regardless of our vast differences, hold a civic union in common. We live in this country and are united in our common struggle to maintain our prosperity for ourselves and our future generations.
Let's become citizen centered together, and form an Unquiet Union.
